What is the nimble?
At least 2.7 billion people out of around 8 billion globally are offline - and many more people already connected do not have meaningful access.
The nimble project aims to enable communities around the world to create and manage their own wireless mesh network that can operate in areas without reliable or affordable internet access.
Communities can combine open hardware designs, local content and services, and locally available hardware and components to co-design and construct new low-power network infrastructure, or expand the capabilities of existing networks. The nimble project is showing how open hardware, firmware, software, and education can empower communities to build resilient and highly localized networks that provide meaningful and sustainable access in underserved areas.
